Gala dinner: Care Winery, Thursday, Sep 12, 18:30 – 23:00
The conference social dinner will be held on Thursday September 12th at the Care Winery in Cariñena (50 km south of Zaragoza). Care, is the ancient name used by the Romans to refer to the town of Cariñena, which then became Caraellana, “the dear plain”. This etymology refers to the roots and love of people from Cariñena for the land. A guided visit of the Winery before dinner will be included.
Founded in 1932, this is the oldest designation of origin in Aragón, and one of the oldest in Spain, together with La Rioja and Jerez. In Roman times, in the 3rd century before Christ, Cariñena, was outstanding for its wine production. This is a designation of origin characterised by specialisation, generation after generation, in vine growing and wine making.
