Focus: This Special Session will focus on the automatic control role in energy systems. Currently, there is an ongoing energy paradigm change. One goal is to move from a centralized fossil fuel based concept to a distributed clean energy concept including increase controllability and observability. To achieve this goal, automatic control is playing a relevant role. This special session aims at presenting the key innovative results related to automatic control applied to energy systems, where the most representative advances and opportunities will be presented, highlighted and deeply discussed. Besides, this special session will also assess the state of the art allowing a fruitful exchange of ideas and discussions on the considered subject.

Topics:

  • Energy Management
  • Power Converters Control
  • Optimization-based control of microgrids
  • Energy systems modelling for control
  • Fuel Cells modelling and characterization
  • Electrical system dynamics and control
  • Grid resilience
  • Grid integration of renewable energies
